Native Son Ferry offers several boat services between Tortola and St. Thomas with Charlotte Amalie, Red Hook, West End and Road Town as their departure locations. From Tortola to St. Thomas the first boat leaves from Road Town in the early morning. The latest daily departure is usually towards the end of the afternoon from St. Thomas arriving in Tortola (Road Town) 30-45mins later depending on the departure port. The Native Son ferry from St Croix to St Thomas is the best boat in the region able to handle the open waters between the islands. This popular excursion is usually timed with public holidays as it is a favourite for locals too. Due to the less regular scheduling for this trip, you can find the available dates an book through our dedicated page on activities and charters.

If you cannot find a St Croix to St John day trip date to suit you, we suggest using our search box to book from St Croix to St Thomas instead. From there you can easily transfer from St Thomas to St John. Please note, however, this will require at least 1 night's stay on St John as the timings do not allow for a return to St Croix on the same day.

Native Son Ferry Luggage Allowance

One personal item per person, such as a back pack or over the shoulder bag, is free. Other luggage of up to 50lbs is allowed for an additional $10 USD and 50lbs and above may be subject to additional charges. All luggage must be checked in at the counter prior to departure.

Native Son Ferry Cancellation policy

The full ticket price will be charged for any cancellation less than 48 hours prior to boat departure.
Within 2 weeks, but outside 48hrs, you will receive a 50% refund minus any charges applied to make the refund (see the general Terms and Conditions for cancellation charges).
Outside 2 Weeks prior to departure, you will receive a full refund minus any charges applied to make the refund (see general Terms and Conditions).
Refunds will be provided in case of last minute cancellations of a departure due to mechanical failure.
